This Cleveland Power of Sport Summit Series program encouraged participating youth, parents, and educators to:
- Learn about disability awareness, including different kinds of disabilities, how disabilities do or do not impact a person’s life, common misconceptions about disabilities, and how to appropriately talk about disabilities
- Join demonstrations and hands-on activities to better understand how sports and recreation can be adapted so everyone can participate
- Engage with and learn from local athletes with disabilities
- Reflect on their experience at the Cleveland Power of Sport Summit Series and determine how they can enact positive change in their communities
There was something for everyone at the Adaptive Sports / Sport For All program.
Youth in grades 5-12 heard diverse perspectives and learned how to include and support peers of all abilities in sport and recreation.
Parents learned about the power of sport and how it can shape the next generation and empower children.
Educators learned how they shape young minds toward a future that is fair for all and the role sports play in this work.
All 2023-24 Cleveland Power of Sport Summit programming is subject to change.
