Demonstration: ZENworks Yoga
Join ZENworks Yoga in learning first-hand about the benefits of yoga and mindfulness! Experienced instructors will be modeling brief accessible breathing and mindful movement activities that can be done anywhere, anytime. See the on-line program in action and explore program materials and resources that you can use to support your family’s wellness, starting today!

Demonstration: The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio: Interactive Community Art Display

This Interactive Community Art Display will be an opportunity for those attending the Summit to share their individual identities – the identities that impact them the most and the least in their day-to-day lives. Everyone will have the opportunity to create and post their identity wheels, resulting in a colorful display of all of the represented identities of participants! This not only serves to capture the diversity of attendees, but to show how even individuals with similar identities may relate or think about those identities differently!

Empower Sports exists to enrich the lives of athletes of diverse challenges through sports and exercise while promoting kindness, character, and tolerance. Join the Empower Sports team inclusive sports activities and learn how they ensure that every athlete has an opportunity to participate in the games they love.

The Carnegie Initiative, named in honor of legendary hockey player and social justice pioneer Herb Carnegie, was created to ensure opportunity and access to hockey everywhere. Join the Carnegie Initiative as they share clips from The CI Summit and learn about the work they are doing to make hockey more inclusive and accepting.

RISE is a national non-profit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations, an important mission that holds even more weight in 2022 than ever before. Champions of Change takes fans on a multi-sensory journey designed to educate, evoke empathy and inspire action. Whether learning about the intersection of sport and society through our interactive timeline, hearing personal stories of athlete experiences with racism or articulating your own commitment to racial equity and social justice, this fan experience inspires the Champion of Change in each of us.

Demonstration: Cleveland Clinic Akron General Challenge Golf 
Golf has proven to be a wonderful way for people with disabilities to refocus on their abilities and redirect their thoughts to the positive side of life. Challenge Golf provides therapeutic benefits to persons recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations and neuromuscular disorders, as well as adults and children with visual impairments, persons with developmental challenges, and those with less disabling impairments, such as hip or knee replacements. It also provides a supportive atmosphere to encourage persons with disabilities to play golf and build their skills, as well as helps individuals set goals, grow in confidence and self-esteem, and improve their mental and physical health. Join PGA Professional Ron Tristano to learn how Challenge Golf assists all individuals, both disabled and able-bodied, in learning the game of golf!

Youth Challenge brings together young people with physical disabilities and teen volunteers who inspire each other through adapted sports, recreation, and social growth activities. Join the Youth Challenge team for a fun, hands-on space showcasing things like adapted adventure sports, boccia, blind soccer, and more! Try out something new while you learn about the work Youth Challenge is doing to enrich the lives of young people of all abilities and support their growth and well-being.

Demonstration: Adaptive Sports Ohio 
Adaptive Sports Ohio will offer an interactive demonstration featuring sitting volleyball and goalball. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn, observe, and participate in these adaptive sports. Through the demo, attendees will learn about Adaptive Sports Ohio’s mission to remove barriers to ensure that individuals with physical and visual disabilities have a chance to play, and how we utilize sport to elevate ability and empower futures.
